Mike Spooner ’12

Mike is an Applied Economics & Management major from Rocky River, Ohio. His older brother, Alex, played on the football team as well and is a '09 graduate.

Mike was a 4 year Letter winner playing Linebacker, Defensive End and Special Teams. On campus, Mike served as President of Sigma Nu Fraternity and won the Brother of the Year award for his fraternity as well. While President, his house was part of an initiative that donated all of their plastic bottles and aluminum cans to the Haiti Orphan Mission Fund, helping raise hundreds of dollars throughout the school year for the group.

Mike was also active in Big Red Readers, a program for Cornell athletes that allows them to reach out to local elementary students. On Fridays during the season, athletes head out to surrounding elementary schools and read to students emphasizing the importance of reading with the hopes of combating childhood illiteracy.

Mike will be working for GE Aviation in their Financial Management Program in Cincinnati, Ohio.
